Wall Street Journal - March 2026

At Marika Meyer Studio, we approach televisions as part of the overall design story—not as a focal point, but as an element to be thoughtfully integrated. As recently highlighted in The Wall Street Journal, creating a “TV-as-art” effect requires careful attention to proportion, placement, and surrounding context. We prioritize clean, understated framing, conceal or minimize visible technology, and curate the environment so the eye moves seamlessly throughout the space. As Marika often advises, scale is essential: the TV, including its frame, should occupy no more than 60 to 75 percent of the wall segment it inhabits. When executed well, the result is a room that feels cohesive and elevated, where even modern necessities quietly support the beauty of the design rather than detract from it.
